Job summary

EGP SMART ENERGY PTE. LTD. is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Project team and support the delivery of EHV substations and transmission systems in the Malaysia market. You will contribute to engineering design, site supervision and QA to ensure safe, reliable and timely outcomes.

You will collaborate with clients, contractors and suppliers to meet technical requirements and maintain high safety standards across all project phases. Strong English and Mandarin communication is essential.

Qualifications

Knowledge of power systems.
Systematic approach to planning and executing work.
Fast learner with willingness to work in an outdoor/site environment.
Proficiency in English and Mandarin as the role requires regular communication with Mandarin-speaking business partners and stakeholders.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Self-motivated with good time management skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee design reviews, installation, testing and commissioning of EHV substations and transmission systems.
Coordinate with clients, contractors and equipment suppliers.
Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and client specifications for GIS, CTs, VTs, transformers and protection systems.
Assist the Project Manager with project schedules, budgets and material approvals.
Supervise site activities including cable terminations, SF₆ handling, HV testing and system energisation.
Prepare and verify technical documents such as installation procedures, checklists, test reports and as-built drawings.
Enforce safety, QA/QC and risk management practices throughout all phases of project execution.
