Job summary

National Institute of Education (NIE) at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for an Education Research Scientist to join SoLEC. We seek PhD holders with up to 2 years post‑PhD who can lead research programs, collaborate across teams and publish in top journals while translating findings

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. Cognitive Science, Psychology, Statistics, Data Analytics or a closely related field)
• Up to 2 years of post-PhD experience
• Ability to lead and collaborate within research teams
• Strong track record in publishing in peer‑reviewed journals
• Experience securing competitive, peer‑reviewed research funding
• Conducting independent, innovative research
• Applying data analytics to learning and educational data
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (spoken and written English)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement SoLEC’s research programmes in collaboration with colleagues
• Lead development of research projects and secure external funding opportunities
• Publish internationally in peer‑reviewed journals and disseminate impactful findings
• Translate research into practice and policy impact within education systems
• Manage administrative and programme‑related tasks to ensure smooth operations
• Contribute to strategic research initiatives of SoLEC, OfR and NIE
• Participate actively in the wider research and service community of NIE
