Job summary

ByteDance Edge Networking Team is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, build, and operate ByteDance's global Internet Edge networks. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, scalability and performance across data centers and edge locations.

This role requires a foundation in TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, data center architectures, and hands-on experience with vendors like Arista and Cisco. Travel up to 15-30% may be required as projects expand globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and MPLS concepts.
• Familiar with data center networking and major vendors' devices.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and optimize ByteDance's global Internet Edge networks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and performance.
• Work with external vendors and ISPs for device and carrier decisions, testing, and verification.
• Travel may be required up to 15% - 30% of the time.
