Job summary

Dyson is seeking a software engineer with 1–2 years of experience in machine learning, computer vision, or software development. You will develop intelligent features across embedded, cloud, and app platforms and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions for Dyson products.

You will work with sensors, embedded systems, and edge devices, applying your ML lifecycle knowledge, data pipelines, and model deployment skills to create practical, user-facing features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with strong fundamentals
• Experience with ML lifecycle: data prep, training, evaluation, deployment
• Experience in computer vision, ML, data science, or software development (1–2 years)
• Knowledge of image classification, segmentation, embeddings, or feature extraction
• Experience with ML on embedded systems or edge devices desirable
• Proficiency in C++ or Python; writing clean, maintainable code
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and CI/CD basics
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) is a plus
• Fluent in English and good communication across teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy ML, CV, or data-driven features across embedded, cloud, and app platforms
• Collaborate with ML specialists, data ops, UX/UI designers, and software engineers
• Develop and maintain data pipelines for sensor data
• Analyze user and device data to improve models
• Integrate model outputs into user-facing interfaces with UX/UI
• Contribute to PoC activities: data collection, annotation, feature bring-up, evaluation
• Deploy models and evaluate performance on edge devices
• Develop and use APIs/interfaces for ML and data-driven features
• Identify risks and blockers and escalate with senior engineers
• Build prototype demonstrators and structured evaluations
• Contribute to CI/CD for model/software delivery
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, knowledge sharing
• Focus on quality, performance, UX, and reliable delivery
