Job summary

Cognizant Technology Solutions Asia Pacific PTE. LTD. is seeking an eBRS Tech Lead to drive end-to-end delivery of an Electronic Batch Record System using Aspen V14 MES for a global pharmaceutical client.

You will align with the Smart Manufacturing 2030 roadmap, ensuring GxP compliance and data integrity. Lead cross-functional teams across MES, SAP, and DCS, and mentor others on recipe authoring, material/equipment management, and system integrations.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and driven eBRS Tech Lead to join our Smart Manufacturing program supporting a global pharmaceutical client site. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end technical delivery of an Electronic Batch Record System (eBRS) using the Aspen V14 MES platform, driving pharmaceutical manufacturing digitalization aligned with the client's Smart Manufacturing 2030 roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and author eBRS recipes and workflows in AspenV14 aligned to core library usage and quality process flow (QPW)recommendations.
• Configure and manage business processes for materialmanagement/flow, equipment management including Equipment Logbook (ePEL), andAspen production record systems.
• Integrate SAP with eBRS and enable seamlesscommunication to DCS (Distributed Control System) to support batch creation viaCampaign Manager, process orchestration via EDM, and batch data recording viaAPRM.
• Implement and configure EDM (Event Driven Module) forreal‑time manufacturing event handling, process activities orchestration, andstock reporting to SAP.
• Lead configuration of Aspen MES modules: MOC, mMDM,APRM, AFW IP.21, and Aspen Mobile.
• Manage ADO story and task assignments to supportDesign, Testing, and Go‑live phases.
• Lead ServiceNow change activities and Kneat system fordefect management during testing.
• Drive smart manufacturing projects targeting the 2030digital transformation roadmap.
• Ensure adherence to GxP standards, site validation procedures, and production stage usage for the GSK client site.
• Oversee primary site eBRS design, configuration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor team members on best practices in recipe authoring, material/equipment management, and system integrations.

Essential Skills & Competencies

• Aspen MES Platform: Expert knowledge of AspenV14 architecture and modules including APEM (MOC), AFW, mMDM, IP.21, AspenMobile, and A1PE.
• eBRS Recipe Design: Extensive experiencedesigning eBRS recipes including SQL syntax for generic, multi‑process recipeauthoring and production record management.
• Application Debugging: Expert ability to analyseMOC and API debug outputs to diagnose and resolve recipe solution issues.
• SQL / Code Writing: Expert-level code writing inSQL syntax supported by the Aspen V14 platform.
• BPL/RPL/MR Design: Expert knowledge of BPL, RPL,and MR design for business process requirements.
• Vendor Management: Proven experience workingwith product vendors to deliver platform fixes and enhancements.
• Material & Equipment Management: Strongknowledge of material management, equipment management, and mMDM configuration.
• SAP & DCS Integration: Expertise in SAP eBRS integration, end‑to‑end Delta V DCS communication setup, and Zebra printerlabel design.
• EDM & Smart Manufacturing: Hands‑on experience with EDM configuration and Smart Manufacturing 2030 initiatives.
• GxP & Validation: Deep understanding of GxP standards, site validation processes, and production stage usage.
• Tooling: Proficiency in ADO, ServiceNow, and Kneat for project and defect management.
• Agile Delivery: Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions using Agile methodology.
• Leadership & Communication: Excellent project leadership and cross‑functional communication skills.

Good‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience with other MES platforms or advanced Aspen modules.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and digital twin concepts.
• Prior experience in primary API manufacturing with understanding of relevant business processes.
• Experience working with Pub/Sub messaging architectures.
• Experience developing Reports and Dashboards usingA1PE.
• Exposure to RPA, Test Automation, or AI/ML applications to augment Aspen MES platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent discipline.
• Professional certifications in Manufacturing Execution Systems, GxP compliance, or related fields are advantageous.
• Willingness to travel when required.
