Job summary

A leading preschool organization in Singapore is looking for a Preschool Early Intervention Specialist to enhance the developmental growth of children with special needs. The successful candidate will observe and assess children's development, collaborate on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and provide specialized support within a preschool setting. Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in the preschool environment or with special needs children.
  • Proficient in crafting and planning of IEP.
  • Good empathy and interpersonal skills.

Job Description

We are seeking aspiring and dynamic individuals with the passion of wanting to make a positive impact in the lives of children with special needs in the Preschool settings.

The successful incumbent will be playing role of Preschool Early Intervention Specialist in guiding the little angels to enhance and maximize their developmental growth potential while minimizing the onset of secondary disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Identification and Assessment: Observe and monitor children's development, conducting screenings, and work closely with preschool staff, parents, and professionals to gather information and evaluate children’s developmental progress.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with the preschool team and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Instruction and Support: The early intervention teacher provides specialized instruction and support to children with developmental delays or disabilities within the context of the mainstream preschool setting.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate and provide consultation and resources to parents and preschool staff by facilitating communication among all stakeholders.
  • Progress Monitoring and Evaluation: Collect data, conducting screenings, and adjust instruction and support strategies as needed to ensure that the child is making meaningful progress.
  • Family Engagement: Provide guidance and resources to support parents in understanding their child's developmental needs, providing strategies and techniques for promoting their child's development at home, and facilitate parent-teacher conferences and other family engagement activities.
Requirements
  • Possess Diploma in Early Childhood and/or Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention-Special Needs (ADESN)
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in the preschool environment or working with special needs children
  • Proficient in PECS, positive reinforcement and behavioral management strategies and other early intervention teaching methodology is referred
  • Proficient in crafting and planning of IEP
  • Good empathy, tolerance and temperament towards children is a must
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work well independently as well as within a team
