Job summary

ALFA TECH VESTASIA PTE. LTD. seeks an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to operate and maintain LT electrical systems, perform calibration of process instruments, and troubleshoot control systems in a GMP pharmaceutical environment.

You will work 12-hour shifts, execute LOTO procedures, and coordinate on-site contractor activities while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across the plant processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or Clean energy.
• EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) license is a plus.
• 3–5 years of technical experience in industrial E&I maintenance, preferably in regulated pharma/biopharma GMP or continuous-process sites.
• Strong ability to read P&IDs and electrical single-line diagrams; familiarity with PLC/DCS interfaces for loop testing.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
• Certifications in WSH in Process Plant or Supervise WSH in Process Plant are beneficial.
• Experience in plant/unit commissioning is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate electrical & instrumentation systems during shifts; perform inspections; respond to alarms and breakdowns; support safe start-up/shutdown.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on LT electrical systems, switchgears, MCCs, and VSDs.
• Perform inspections, testing, and loop calibration of process field instruments (temperature, pressure, flow, pH).
• Read schematics, wiring layouts, and control logic to trace and resolve faults safely.
• Execute LOTO and maintain high safety culture.
• Record calibration values in CMMS (SAP/Maximo) and supervise on-site contractors.

Job Description

• Shift Operation:Monitor and operate electrical and instrumentation systems during assigned shifts, perform inspections, respond to alarms and breakdowns, execute first-line troubleshooting, and support safe equipment start-up/shutdown to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

• Electrical Maintenance:Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on low-tension (LT) electrical systems, switchgears, motor control centers (MCC), and variable speed drives (VSD).

• Instrumentation & Calibration:Perform inspections, testing, and loop calibration of process field instruments (e.g., temperature, pressure, flow, and pH sensors).

• Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:Read electrical schematics, wiring layouts, and control logic diagrams to trace, diagnose, and resolve electrical faults safely.

• LOTO & High Safety Culture:Execute precise electrical isolation and verification (LOTO) procedures before any mechanical or electrical servicing.

• Data Log & Contractor Coordination:Record exact pre/post-calibration values in the CMMS tool (SAP or Maximo) to maintain GxP validation records. Supervise ad-hoc electrical contractors working on site.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or Clean energy.

• Good to have a valid Energy Market Authority (EMA) Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) license

• Minimum 3–5 years of technical experience in industrial E&I maintenance, preferably within a regulated pharmaceutical, biopharma GMP plant or continuous-process manufacturing site.

• Strong foundation in reading P&IDs and electrical single-line diagrams. Familiarity with PLC/DCS interfaces for physical loop testing.

• Able to work 12-hour shifts.

• Good to have certification inApply WSH in Process Plantand/orSupervise WSH in Process Plant

• Good to have experience in plant/unit commissioning
