Job summary

SHOPEE SINGAPORE PRIVATE LIMITED is seeking a highly capable Legal Counsel to partner with business teams across markets. You will advise on legal and compliance matters for platform products, live-streaming, and cross-border initiatives, and draft policies to support new programs and services.

The role requires Singapore-qualified lawyers with strong contracts experience and excellent analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

Singapore-qualified lawyer with strong contracts experience.
In-house experience in e-commerce/internet platforms is a plus.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to lead projects as required.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
Ability to analyse business risks and provide pragmatic legal advice in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day legal and compliance advice to business stakeholders across markets on platform products, live-streaming and cross-border matters.
Review new programs, features and services and draft internal and external facing policies.
Develop compliance plans by reviewing commercial frameworks and identifying legal gaps.
Coordinate with local legal teams to cascade regional initiatives and resolve local legal issues.
Monitor legal landscape and engage with regulatory authorities as needed.
Provide internal trainings as required.
Perform ad hoc legal initiatives aligned with business strategy.
