Job summary

SBM Group is seeking a reliable Driver to support marine shipyard and construction operations in Singapore. The role involves transporting workers to sites, picking them up, and handling ad hoc deliveries and document transfers between locations.

You will maintain vehicle safety, perform daily checks, and ensure cleanliness and compliance with safety regulations. A Class 3 driving licence is required, and reading simple English is necessary to follow schedules.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 3 driving licence.
• Minimum 1 year of driving experience, preferably in marine shipyard environments.
• Ability to read and understand simple English to follow schedules.

Responsibilities

• Pick up workers from dormitories and transport them to designated job sites according to schedule.
• Send workers from job sites back to dormitories as scheduled.
• Arrange transport for swab tests, training, medical check-ups, fingerprinting, and other official appointments.
• Deliver documents between HQ, shipyard sites, and other locations as assigned.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of the assigned vehicle.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up workers from dormitories and transport them to designated job sites according to scheduled timings.
• Send workers from job sites back to dormitories as scheduled.
• Arrange and provide transport for workers to swab tests, training courses, medical check-ups, fingerprinting, and other official appointments.
• Perform delivery and collection of materials from suppliers when required.
• Deliver documents between HQ, shipyard sites, and other locations as assigned.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper condition of the assigned vehicle.
• Other adhoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Possess a valid Class 3 driving licence
• Minimum 1 year of working experience as a driver in a marine shipyard environment
• Comfortable driving a 10-footer lorry
• Able to read and understand simple English
• Physically fit and able to carry heavy items (10kg and above) when required
• Exposure to shipyard, construction, or operational environments is an advantage
• Able to work in a fast-paced and operational environment
• Good communication and coordination skills
