Job summary

SIN UNITED (S) PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a skilled draftsman to produce technical drawings for building renovation and construction projects, based on architectural plans and on-site measurements.

You will verify drawings against site conditions, coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors, and maintain drawing registers to ensure the latest approved versions are issued. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with BIM software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop technical drawings for renovation and construction projects.

• Prepare and revise shop drawings for client and consultant approvals.

• Incorporate site changes and design revisions into drawings promptly.
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure latest approved drawings are issued.
• Assist in preparing drawings for client, consultant, and site submissions.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project requirements and company procedures.
• Liaise with site personnel to clarify drawing details.
• Assist in quantity take-off and material measurement where required.
• Carry out drafting, documentation, and technical support duties as needed.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and develop technical drawings, shop drawings, construction drawings, and detailed drawings for building renovation and construction projects.
2. Prepare drawings based on architectural plans, site measurements, design requirements, and project specifications.
3. Conduct and record site measurements and verification to ensure drawings accurately reflect existing site conditions.
4. Produce detailed drawings for various renovation works, including but not limited to:Architectural and partition layoutsCeiling and flooring layoutsDoor and window detailsCarpentry and cabinetry detailsWet works and sanitary layoutsM&E coordination drawingsElevations, sections, and construction details
5. Prepare and revise shop drawings and construction details for submission to clients, consultants, architects, and relevant parties for approval.
6. Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and consultants to ensure drawings are practical and aligned with site requirements.
7. Review drawings and identify design discrepancies, clashes, missing information, and constructability issues, and highlight them to the relevant project team.
8. Incorporate site conditions, approved changes, variation orders, and design revisions into drawings accurately and promptly.
9. Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, and document control, ensuring the latest approved drawings are issued to the site team.
10. Prepare as-built drawings based on actual completed works and site records upon project completion.
11. Assist the Project Team in preparing drawings and supporting documents required for client, consultant, authority, and site submissions, where applicable.
12. Ensure all drawings are prepared in accordance with project requirements, relevant standards, and company drafting procedures.
13. Liaise with site personnel to clarify drawing details and provide drafting support during construction when required.
14. Assist in quantity take-off, material measurement, and preparation of drawing-related information for quotation, procurement, and project coordination when required.
15. Carry out any other drafting, documentation, and technical support duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.

Key Skills / Requirements:

• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of other drafting/BIM software is an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawings.
• Good understanding of building renovation and construction processes.
• Able to understand site conditions and translate them into accurate technical drawings.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams.
• Relevant qualification in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant experience in building renovation, interior fit-out, A&A, or construction projects will be an advantage.
