Job summary

RECRUIT123 PTE. LTD. is seeking a Distributed Control System (DCS) / Automation Engineer to act as the core technical expert for DCS architecture and software programming, driving complex control loop optimization and automation lifecycle enhancements.

The role requires 4–7 years of DCS programming and system administration in a regulated manufacturing setting, with hands-on experience on major DCS platforms and knowledge of industry standards such as GAMP 5 and IEC 62443.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead configuration, maintenance, and expansion of site-wide DCS for max process efficiency and uptime.
• Program sequential logic, interlocks, continuous control algorithms and HMI/SCADA interfaces per design specs.
• Manage batch and recipe configurations per ISA-88/ISA-95; perform alarm rationalization and system upgrades.
• Coordinate commissioning protocols (FAT/SAT) and CSV packages for automation changes.
• Oversee OT networking and interfaces (Modbus, Profibus, OPC, Ethernet/IP) and collaborate with process engineering on APC strategies.

Salary Range: SGD 6,000 - SGD 9,800 per month (Commensurate with experience)

Recruit123 is currently partnering with a leading process manufacturing organization to hire a Distributed Control System (DCS) / Automation Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to serve as the core technical expert responsible for DCS architecture, software programming, complex control loop optimization, and automation lifecycle enhancements.

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will lead the configuration, maintenance, and strategic expansion of site-wide Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to achieve maximum process efficiency and uninterrupted production.

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include programming sequential logic, interlocks, continuous control algorithms, and intuitive HMI/SCADA graphical interfaces in alignment with functional design specifications. You will manage batch and recipe configurations adhering to ISA-88/ISA-95 standards, conduct alarm rationalization studies, and execute system software upgrades, security patch deployments, and routine system backups.

You will lead troubleshooting for complex control upsets, author and execute commissioning protocols (FAT/SAT), and coordinate computerized system validation (CSV) packages for automation changes.

Additionally, you will manage industrial OT networking and communication interfaces (Modbus, Profibus, OPC, Ethernet/IP) and partner with process engineering teams to develop advanced process control (APC) strategies.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, alongside at least 4 to 7 years of dedicated DCS programming and system administration experience within a regulated manufacturing facility (e.g., Biopharma, Petrochemical, Specialty Chemical, or Semiconductor).

Proven hands-on programming expertise on major DCS platforms is essential. You should possess a solid understanding of GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, or industrial cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443).

Exceptional analytical problem-solving abilities, structured software documentation skills, and effective cross-functional collaboration are required.
