The Director, Product Marketing will own the go-to-market strategy and market positioning for Silith's silicon photonics product portfolio. This person will translate product capabilities and roadmap into market-facing strategy — segmentation, positioning, pricing input, launch planning, and sales enablement — for hyperscaler, semiconductor, and OEM audiences. The role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, and the commercial organization (Sales, BD, and Technical Marketing) to ensure Silith's products are positioned correctly, launched effectively, and supported with the market intelligence needed to win and grow key accounts.
Responsibilities:
Technical Positioning & Messaging
- Develop Silith's core technical narrative and value proposition across silicon photonics, optical interconnect, and AI
infrastructure applications - Translate complex technical differentiation (e.g., modulator performance, integration architecture, packaging) into
clear, customer-relevant messaging - Own technical positioning against competitors and alternative technology approaches
- Tailor messaging by customer segment — hyperscalers, semiconductor companies, and OEMs each require a
different technical story
Sales & Customer Engagement Support - Partner directly with Sales, BD, and the CRO on strategic account engagements, providing technical depth in
customer meetings and design review discussions - Build account-specific technical presentations, white papers, and proof points that support the Challenge → Solution
→ Validated Result narrative used with technical buyers - Support technical due diligence requests from prospective customers, including data sheets, performance
benchmarks, and application notes - Work with Engineering to translate lab results and simulation data into externally shareable proof points
Competitive Intelligence - Track competitor product roadmaps, technical claims, and market positioning across the silicon photonics and
optical interconnect landscape - Produce competitive battlecards and technical comparison materials for use by Sales and BD
- Monitor customer-facing technical trends (e.g., CPO, NPO, coherent, IM-DD) and translate implications into
positioning updates - Brief executive leadership on competitive technical developments that could affect deal strategy
Content & Collateral Development - Own the technical content roadmap: data sheets, application notes, white papers, technical blog posts, and
presentation decks - Ensure technical accuracy and consistency of messaging across all customer-facing materials
- Develop reusable technical frameworks and templates that scale across the sales organization
- Manage technical review and approval process with Engineering and Product before external publication
Industry Presence & Thought Leadership - Represent Silith at industry conferences and trade shows (e.g., ECOC, OFC) through speaking engagements,
technical demos, and customer meetings - Build relationships with industry analysts, press, and standards bodies relevant to optical interconnect and silicon
photonics - Support technical PR and analyst briefing efforts in coordination with executive leadership
- Identify speaking, publication, and demonstration opportunities that build Silith's technical credibility in target
markets
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Serve as the primary technical marketing liaison between Engineering, Product, and the commercial organization
- Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering to inform roadmap prioritization
- Support pricing and positioning discussions with technical context on performance trade-offs and competitive
benchmarks
Product Positioning & Go-to-Market Strategy - Own market positioning, segmentation, and value proposition for Silith's product lines across hyperscaler, semiconductor, and OEM segments
- Develop go-to-market plans for new products and major product updates, including target segments, pricing input, and launch sequencing
- Translate product roadmap and technical capability into market strategy in partnership with Product Management
- Define and maintain the product marketing framework (positioning, messaging house, ideal customer profiles) used across Marketing and Sales
Market & Competitive Intelligence - Own market sizing, segmentation analysis, and competitive landscape mapping for silicon photonics and optical interconnect markets
- Track competitor product launches, pricing, and positioning, and translate findings into actionable input for Product and Sales leadership
- Synthesize customer and market feedback into product and marketing strategy recommendations
- Maintain a current view of market trends (e.g., CPO, NPO, coherent, IM-DD) and their implications for product strategy
Product Launches - Own end-to-end launch planning and execution for new products and major releases
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Technical Marketing, Sales, BD, and Communications to align launch timing and messaging
- Develop launch materials, briefing decks, and internal/external announcement content
- Define and track launch success metrics, and run post-launch retrospectives to improve future launches
Sales & Field Enablement - Build and maintain core sales enablement assets: pitch decks, positioning guides, objection-handling materials, and competitive battlecards
- Partner with Sales, BD, and Sales Programs & Operations to ensure product marketing content maps to the design win funnel and sales process
- Train and enable Sales and BD teams on new product positioning, pricing, and competitive differentiation
- Gather field feedback to continuously improve enablement content and product positioning
Pricing & Packaging Input - Provide market- and competitor-informed input into pricing and packaging decisions in partnership with Sales, Finance, and Product Management
