Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking an Assistant Director, Design Management to drive the user experience strategy for MFA’s digital products and modernize services for diplomats and staff. You will lead a design team, scale capabilities, and govern external partners while upholding security requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of professional experience in Product Design, UX, or Service Design with a proven track record of nurturing talent.
• Demonstrated ability to design scalable workflows and user experiences for complex, data-heavy systems.
• Experience overseeing a mixed product design team with external contractors and vendors.
• Strong ability to influence, align, and defend design decisions to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establish the north-star design strategy for MFA’s digital products and services.
• Grow and upskill the design team, including recruiting 2–3 new permanent designers.
• Oversee external contract designers and ensure delivery meets standards and security requirements.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to align design with operational goals.
• Set and standardize design processes, research methodologies, and critique frameworks.
