  • Serve as escalation point for complex compliance and contractual interpretations.
  • Provide strategic financial governance for contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, and performance tests.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Contract Compliance organization with talent management and succession planning.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance Operations, Legal, Developments, and Operations teams to support consistent practices.

JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Contract Compliance is responsible for providing strategic leadership and governance oversight for the Contract Compliance function across the APEC Continent, ensuring compliance with contractual financial obligations, strengthening governance practices, and mitigating financial and operational risk. This role will be based in Singapore and reporting to the Vice President, Financial Strategy & Analysis, Reporting & Contract Compliance.

The role establishes and drives the continent-wide contract compliance strategy, governance framework, and operating model, partnering with Finance, Legal, Development, Operations, Finance Operations, and corporate stakeholders to ensure consistent interpretation and application of contractual financial provisions.

The Director serves as the principal advisor on contractual financial governance matters, providing guidance on management agreements, franchise agreements, lease arrangements, contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, compliance risks, and commercial implications. The role is accountable for driving operational excellence, technology enablement, and continuous improvement across the Contract Compliance function.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
EDUCATION & EXPERINCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualifications .
  • 12-15+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, contract compliance, audit, governance, or commercial finance functions within a multinational environment..
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing managers and/or regional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading governance, compliance, risk management, or finance transformation initiatives.
  • Experience advising senior leadership on contractual, financial, and governance matters.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting financial provisions in management, franchise, and lease agreements.
  • Proven people leadership experience in a regional or complex operating environment.
  • Hospitality or hotel industry experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, contractual financial provisions, and compliance risk.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making in complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Highly analytical, with a disciplined focus on processes, controls, and risk management.
  • Effective influencing and senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong systems orientation; knowledge of QuickBase and Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvement across complex stakeholder groups.
  • High degree of integrity, professional judgment, and accountability in handling sensitive contractual and financial matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish enterprise-wide monitoring, reporting, and risk management frameworks to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks and potential financial exposure.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex compliance and contractual interpretations.
  • Provide strategic financial governance and compliance leadership for contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, performance tests, and commercial arrangements.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Contract Compliance organization, including talent management, succession planning, capability development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance Operations, Legal, Developments, and Operations teams to support consistent contract interpretation and compliance practices.
