Job summary

JAC Recruitment Pte Ltd invites an accomplished Director to lead strategic research and innovation initiatives in the industrial biotechnology sector from Singapore. You will shape R&D priorities, oversee funding programmes, and foster collaboration across industry, academia, and public sector stakeholders while driving the commercialisation of research outcomes.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 10–15 years of leadership experience within the Industrial Biotechnology sector.
• Proven experience in R&D strategy, innovation management, or technology commercialisation at a regional or global level.
• Strong track record of working with stakeholders across research, industry, and public sector environments.
• Experience managing large-scale research grants or complex R&D portfolios is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the R&D roadmap in alignment with long-term strategic and economic objectives
• Oversee fund administration activities, including the development of selection criteria, evaluation of scientific proposals, and monitoring of funded projects
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, industry partners, and the research community to support collaborative innovation initiatives
• Drive the commercialisation of research outputs through technology transfer, licensing activities, and the development of spin-off opportunities
• Provide scientific and technical leadership when engaging with Principal Investigators, researchers, and industry stakeholders
• Support the management of complex research and innovation portfolios to maximise impact and value creation
