Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and manage development of new products aligned with company goals.
• Manage entire project life cycles including development and testing.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with Business teams and executives to define solutions meeting customer needs.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to influence product roadmaps.
• Advocate best practices in software development and engineering standards.

Job description

Reporting to the Head of the Development for the oversight of Regional Application Department team within Technology covering both Development and application maintenance team

This role will suit someone with a strong application development background in financial institution. The role will manage team size of around 40+ headcounts. It covers Developers, Tech lead, Testers and BAs for compliance related applications

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate senior experience as Application development manager roles with proven experience in overseeing the department and specifically striving for improving Tech standards and organisational setup.

• Provide strategic leadership and manage development of new products that align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
• Managing entire project life cycles including development, testing
• Ensuring all projects are delivered on time , within budget
• Work with the Business teams (Head / MDs) to define and collaborate with other departments, to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the company's products and operations.
• Recommend and support software engineering best practices and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team.
• Drive technological excellence, making decisions that will impact the current and future operations of all software.
• Advocate best practices in software development

Requirements

• . Bachelor or Master degree with substantial experience in leading sizable development team (min 30 members) with min 6 years of experience in banking industry
• . Well rounded and balanced personality considering wider context and strategic factors when assessing, recommending and implementing change
• . Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of talented engineers.
• . Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable plans.
• . Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
• . Must have appreciation of various application development tools and latest technologies
• . Prior experience in managing java or .net development will be a plus
