Job summary

FOCAL SEARCH PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced diesel engine mechanic to disassemble, inspect, clean, repair and reassemble engines and related equipment. You will assist senior mechanics, use gauges and torque wrenches, and follow drawings for precise fitting and alignment.

The role requires readiness to travel to client sites such as shipyards and to work in industrial, marine or offshore environments while maintaining strict safety standards and PPE usage.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience in industrial, marine, offshore, or diesel engine repair or servicing.
• Willingness to travel for work-related tasks such as shipyards or boarding ships.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, reassemble and test diesel engines, parts, and mechanical equipment.
• Assist supervisors and senior mechanics in diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues.
• Use machinery, tools, and measurement devices (dial gauges, torque wrenches) safely and efficiently.
• Follow engineering drawings and manuals for fitting, alignment, and adjustment tasks.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment safe, orderly, and clean.
• Support project work at client locations such as shipyards or ships.
• Adhere to company safety regulations, policies, and procedures during workshop and site operations.
• Comply with local safety regulations and the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
• Attend toolbox talks and safety briefings; perform risk assessments.
• Notify supervisor of risks, dangerous behavior, near misses, or incidents immediately.
• Always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Assist with project work at client locations, such as boarding ships or working in shipyards as needed.
• When conducting workshop and site operations, adhere to all company safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to all local statutory safety regulations and the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act.
• Attend toolbox talks and safety briefings, and follow risk assessments.
• Notify the supervisor right away of any risks, dangerous behavior, near misses, or incidents.
• Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
