Job summary

FOCAL SEARCH PTE. LTD. is seeking a diesel engine mechanic to disassemble, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test engines and mechanical equipment at client locations and shipyards.

You will assist supervisors and senior mechanics in diagnosing issues, use PPE, follow engineering drawings, and perform maintenance in compliance with safety laws and company rules.

Travel is required for work in shipyards or aboard vessels, and you must maintain tools and work areas in a safe, orderly condition.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience in industrial, marine, offshore, or diesel engine mechanical repair or servicing.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work at shipyards or aboard ships.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, reassemble, and test diesel engines and components.
• Assist supervisors and senior mechanics to diagnose and fix mechanical issues.
• Use tools and measurement devices safely.
• Adhere to drawings and manuals for fitting, alignment, and adjustment.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment safe and tidy.
• Assist with project work at client locations, including ships and shipyards.
• Follow safety regulations, policies, and procedures on site/workshop.
• Comply with local safety regulations and the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
• Attend toolbox talks and safety briefings and follow risk assessments.
• Notify supervisor of risks, near misses, or incidents.
• Always wear proper PPE.
