Job summary

II-VI Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Production Technician to polish diamond components using precision machinery. You will control thickness, finish quality, and optical figure, and adjust machines for mirror geometry.

The role requires at least 2 years manufacturing experience in diamond processing, and a Diploma or High School certificate in engineering. Training and potential transfer to other departments may occur; shift is 12-hour rotating including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding/lapping machines and diamond polishing machines.
• Maintain production plan per work orders to optimize schedules.
• Maintain manufacturing processes per procedures by observation and routine audits.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing issues as they occur.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance (checking operation temp, water flows, etc).
• Process schedules to meet on-time deliveries.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and keep the work area clean and orderly.

About the role

In this job you will work as Production Technician of Diamond Polishing components using a machine. The technician will be responsible for controlling and verifying component thickness, finish quality and optical figure for all parts polished. The machine set-up requires critical adjustments of the machine and some jobs may require more complex tooling configurations that define the correct mirror geometry. Proper selection of tools, feeds and speeds, together with a trained eye for inspection is critical to the successful polishing of these mirrors.

Key responsibilities

• Operating griding/lapping machines, multi-head diamond polishing machines, interferometer surface figure equipment and numerous handheld thickness and surface test tooling
• Maintains production plan per work order due dates to optimize schedules, deliveries, yields and intra-department communications
• Maintain manufacturing processes per procedures by observation and routine audits
• Provide technical support to manufacturing issues as they occur
• Performs daily equipment maintenance (checking operation temp, water flows, and outlined general maintenance task)
• Works needed production schedules to meet a commitment to on-time deliveries
• Comply with policies and procedures relating to Health & Safety
• Maintain work area clean and orderly

Working condition & other requirement

• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shift including weekend and public holiday
• High School Certificate or Diploma in Engineering course related
• At least 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience in Diamond Polishing or Diamond processing process is prefered
• Candidates will also be reviewed for opening in different department if deemed suitable
