Job summary

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHERS PTE. LTD is seeking engineers to design, build, and operate secure cloud infrastructure for citizen and officer facing applications. You will develop IaC with Terraform or OpenTofu, maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and manage containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes/ECS/EKS.

Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure for government or similar secure environments.
• Hands-on with IaC tools (Terraform or OpenTofu) and GitLab-based pipelines.
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS/EKS).
• Understanding of cloud networking, security controls, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Build and support cloud-based digital products and services for citizen- and officer-facing applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Develop IaC using Terraform or OpenTofu and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Deploy, manage, and support containerised apps using Docker and Kubernetes/ECS/EKS.
• Improve release efficiency and reliability through deployment automation.
• Design cloud networking for secure, highly available apps.
• Establish observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting across environments.
• Support production Ops, including incident response and performance tuning.
• Implement security controls for auth, encryption, audit logging, and configs.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist integration of systems across agencies and partners.
• Modernise legacy Java apps with cloud-native DevOps approaches.
• Collaborate to enhance automated testing, quality, and resilience.
• Build reusable platform capabilities across teams.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and support cloud-based digital products and services for citizen- and officer-facing applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines to support reliable application delivery.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitLab, to enable automated and reliable software delivery.
• Deploy, manage, and support containerised applications using Docker, AWS ECS, Kubernetes, and/or Amazon EKS.
• Implement deployment automation and engineering practices that improve release efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
• Design and manage cloud networking components to support secure and highly available applications and services.
• Establish and maintain observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting practices across cloud and production environments.
• Support production operations, including troubleshooting, incident response, performance optimisation, and service recovery.
• Implement security controls covering authentication, authorisation, encryption, audit logging, and secure system configuration.
• Ensure infrastructure and platform services comply with applicable security, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Support the integration of systems across government agencies and external partners.
• Contribute to the modernisation of existing Java-based and platform applications through cloud-native and DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams to improve automated testing, engineering quality, and operational resilience.
• Build reusable platform and engineering capabilities that can be adopted across multiple teams within the organisation.
• Support the delivery of reliable, scalable, secure, and highly available production systems.
