Job summary

TikTok's Applied Machine Learning (AML) team develops massively distributed recommendation systems worldwide. You will sharpen your skills in coding, performance analysis, and large system operation, while influencing hardware/capacity decisions.

You'll collaborate with DevOps to ensure high availability, create automated pipelines, and integrate software with hardware. A CS degree and Python/C++ proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Experience designing and maintaining large-scale systems.
• Proficiency in Python or C/C++.
• Experience with DevOps tools like Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Bash.
• Experience building solutions with cloud services (AWS, Google, Azure, AliCloud).
• Familiar with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Strong basics in algorithms and data structures.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialised utility programs.
• Analyse user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update software, enhance existing software capabilities, and develop and direct software testing and validation procedures.
• Work with computer hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements.
