Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design and operate automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub Actions) on AWS, focusing on quality, security and reliability. You will manage container deployments with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS and support cloud deployments across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will implement IaC with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation/CDK, set up observability with Datadog and Helm, promote DevOps best practices, and help development teams migrate and modernise

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 4 years in DevOps roles.
• Strong hands-on experience managing CI/CD platforms, particularly GitLab or GitHub Actions.
• Strong experience with AWS across compute, networking, storage and security services.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation/CDK, Helm and observability tools such as Datadog.
• Experience across both on-premises and cloud-native deployment models.
• Understanding of application modernisation and cloud migration strategies.
• Experience with Agile software development and supporting development teams with DevOps adoption.
• Knowledge of cloud security, quality and automation practices.
• Knowledge of multi-account AWS environments and cloud cost optimisation is an advantage.
• Experience with OpenShift or GCC is desirable.
• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or Solutions Architect are a bonus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively within complex organisations.
