Job summary

NETS is seeking a Software Developer Intern to join the Project Delivery Group in NETS Solutions in Singapore. You will contribute to change requests, develop applications and provide testing support under a Project Manager's guidance.

The role covers requirement elicitation, design with the Technical Lead, coding, testing and QA tasks, plus creation of training materials. Strong Java, web tech, REST and cloud/microservices experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or postgraduate pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Solid knowledge of Java, JEE, SQL/PLSQL and XML; MySQL a plus.
• Experience with web technologies (HTML5, CSS) and modern front-end frameworks (Angular 5+, React).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Spring 5.x/6.x, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Security and cloud/microservice architectures.

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirement elicitation and produce technical and operations documentation.
• Collaborate with Technical Lead on analysis and design of code changes per requirements.
• Execute code changes and test systems per specifications.
• Ensure work complies with coding standards, security standards and processes.
• Perform QA activities including unit and system testing and code reviews.
• Support system integration testing and resolve issues reported by Test Team.
• Provide testing support to internal and external parties.
• Assist in developing training materials.

Position Summary

The Software Developer Intern is a member of the Project Delivery Group in NETS Solutions and will report to the Project Manager of the dedicated project. He/She will participate in the change request development assigned by the manager and will be responsible for application development and testing support.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the requirement elicitation and produce the required technical and operations documentation
• Work with Technical Lead on the analysis and design of the code changes according to the finalized requirement specifications
• Perform code changes and test the system according to the requirements specifications
• Ensure work performed comply to coding and security standards, and corporate processes
• Perform quality assurance (QA) activities such as unit testing, system testing and code review
• Participate in the system integration testing by rendering support to the Test Team and resolve issues reported.
• Provide support to internal and external parties during the testing stages
• Assist in the development of training materials

Requirements

• Undergraduate and Postgraduate currently pursuing Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering , or a related technical discipline
• Good technical knowledge project experience in Java, JEE, SQL/PLSQL, and XML. Knowledge of MySQL will be added advantage
• Experienced with web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, Modular design, Angular (5 & above) or React and open source JS framework
• Experienced with RESTFul APIs, Spring 5.x/6.x, Spring Boot, Sprint Framework, Sprint Security, Cloud-Based technologies and Micro-services, including Messaging Middleware such as Kafka/IBM MQ/Solace
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
