Job summary

IDEMIA Public Security in Singapore is seeking a software engineer to design, implement, integrate, develop and deliver subsystems or interfaces during the development life cycle for large-scale, real-time applications. You will build end-to-end solutions from scratch and extend existing features to maximize business value and customer satisfaction.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience in software development and a strong background in Java, Angular, and modern web/mobile tech.

Qualifications

• At least 1–3 years’ software development experience.
• Curious, strong communicator, able to work in a fast-paced environment and learn new/different coding languages as needed.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering / Computer Science or a relevant discipline.
• Experience in Java, Hibernate/Spring Framework and Angular.
• Experience in frontend technologies like Angular/React/Vue or mobile app development with React Native plus TypeScript/JavaScript on iOS or Android.
• Familiar with SQL databases.
• Familiar with containerization technologies like Docker.
• Knowledge of NodeJs, ExpressJS, Python is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Drools, jBPM, Apache Camel, Elastic stack, etc. is a plus.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of Developers/Integrators/Business Analysts and Project Managers through the software development life cycle in an iterative agile scrum team.
• Build micro-services, designing and developing frontend and backend applications on various platforms.
• Collaborate with fellow developers and other team members to improve the usability of applications.
• Create quality mock-ups and prototypes.
• Provide technical support during system integration testing, user acceptance testing, system commissioning, and maintenance phases.
• Write highly performant code that is clean, simple, maintainable, and write tests to ensure reliability of the software.
• Strive for continuous improvement in terms of process, quality and efficiency.

• Candidate should be familiar with SQL databases
• Candidate should be familiar with containerization technologies like Docker
• Knowledge on NodeJs, ExpressJS, Python is a plus
• Familiarity with other technologies like Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Drools, jBPM, Apache Camel, Elastic stack etc. is a plus
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus
