What Is A Designer Sales Specialist Role?

The Designer Sales Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore, responsible for combining interior design expertise with client-facing sales activities. On a day-to-day basis, this role consults with clients in the studio and in their homes to understand lifestyle needs, aesthetic preferences, and functional requirements, then proposes tailored design and product solutions.

As a design specialist, you are required to develop mood boards, thoughtful layouts, and compelling interior design concepts, while presenting furniture, finishes, and accessories that align with project budgets and timelines. This position manages the sales process from initial inquiry phase through to project handover, including preparing quotations, processing orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring a high-quality client experience.

The role also supports showroom merchandising, maintains product and material libraries, and collaborates with the design team to ensure projects are executed in line with Ethan Interiors Design Studio's standards.

What Skillset Is Required?

• Strong communication skills, including active listening, clear presentation of design concepts, and professional written correspondence.
• Proven customer service abilities, with a focus on building long-term client relationships and ensuring a positive, consultative experience.
• Practical interior design skills, such as space planning, material and furniture selection, and an eye for detail and aesthetics; experience with local renovation and interior design is an advantage.
• Sales skills, including needs-based selling, product recommendation, and confident closing of design and furniture packages.
• Proficiency with basic design and presentation tools (e.g., SketchUp & AutoCAD; and office productivity tools for quotations and documentation).
• Ability to work on-site in Singapore, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborate effectively in a small, design-focused team environment.
• Knowledge of current interior design trends, sustainable and biophilic design principles, and familiarity with mid- to high-end residential furnishings.

Who May Be Suitable To Apply?

• Prefer professionals with at least two years of working experience in any sales and design field.
• Prior senior sales designer experience in a design studio, furniture showroom, or residential design sales is welcome to apply.
• Fresh graduates with a keen heart and positive attitude is welcome to apply.
• Relevant education or training in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
