Job summary

Menlo is seeking a design lead to own the visual language across web surfaces, marketing pages, and partner communications. You will collaborate with engineering to bring designs to production and shape the brand visuals across sites, docs, and community channels.

The role emphasizes fast, polished outputs with a strong portfolio and experience delivering brand systems to marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Own the visual design of Menlo's web surfaces, including marketing and launch pages, careers content, shop experiences, and other company-facing pages.
• Work closely with engineering to take web designs through to production.
• Create communications assets for launches, including social content, announcement artwork, research graphics, video thumbnails, event materials, and physical collateral.
• Build and maintain a consistent brand system covering typography, visual language, reusable components, and templates.
• Keep Menlo and Asimov visually consistent across website, documentation, community channels, and partner-facing materials.
• Design decks, one-pagers, and supporting collateral for partnerships, sales, hiring, and company communications.
• Help shape the visual side of Menlo's build-in-public approach across community spaces, streams, forums, and other channels.
• Turn rough ideas into polished work quickly, including when timelines are tied to launches or announcements.

• Experience moving from brand systems and visual identity through to marketing websites and campaign or social assets.
• Confidence owning and evolving a brand in an early-stage or fast-moving environment.
• Strong Figma skills with excellent judgment around layout, typography, hierarchy, and visual detail.
• Solid web design fundamentals, including responsive thinking and effective collaboration or handoff with engineers.
• A clean, confident design sensibility suited to technical and developer-facing audiences.
• Strong self-direction, speed, and a bias toward shipping polished work.
• Useful Additional Experience HTML, CSS, Tailwind, React, or Next.js knowledge sufficient to implement or contribute directly to web experiences.
• Motion design or video editing.
• Illustration, 3D design, or Blender experience, particularly for robotics or hardware-related work.
• Photography or art direction.
• Previous design work for hardware, robotics, developer tools, open-source projects, or technical products.
