Job summary

UWCSEA Dover is seeking a well‑qualified Teacher of High School and Middle School Design Technology for August 2027. The role involves delivering Design Technology across middle and upper secondary levels, including Product Design and Food Technology in Middle School, in a resourceful learning environment.

You will collaborate with DT colleagues, foster concept‑based teaching, assess and feedback effectively, manage classes, and communicate with parents.

Qualifications

• A good degree in Design and Technology or a closely related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification or certification.
• Experience teaching Design and Technology to the 11–18 age range.
• Commitment to the five elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics, Activities, Outdoor Education, Personal and Social Education, and Service.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate positively within the DT department and broader Middle and High School teams.
• Design learning experiences that challenge and inspire diverse learners.
• Provide timely, relevant feedback on formative and summative assessments.
• Maintain effective classroom management across lessons and cohorts.
• Keep parents informed about student progress and learning.
• Lead or mentor a Tutor/House mentor group as part of pastoral care.
• Contribute to Activities and/or Service for two sessions per week per season.
• Participate in curricular Outdoor Education experiences and volunteer for trips as needed.
