The ideal candidate holds a Science degree and a recognized teaching qualification, with experience teaching 11–18-year-olds, a passion for diverse learners, and a commitment to UWCSEA's learning principles and inclusion.

Qualifications

• A good degree in Science or closely related discipline and a recognized teaching qualification.
• Previous experience teaching Science to 11–18 year olds.
• Passion for working with young adolescents and ability to adapt pedagogy for diverse learners.
• Ability to foster an inclusive, respectful classroom culture.
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and engage families.

Responsibilities

• Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Science department and Middle/High School team.
• Design learning experiences that challenge learners and support diverse needs.
• Apply concept-based teaching and provide timely feedback on assessments.
• Maintain effective classroom management and address student wellbeing.
• Communicate with parents about student progress and learning.
• Promote the school’s five elements: Academics, Activities, Outdoor Education, Personal/Social Education, and Service.
