Job summary

PEC in Singapore is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to support design of product, utility, and safety systems. You will develop PFDs/P&IDs, pump hydraulics, heat and hazard analyses, and design basis documents, collaborating with multiple disciplines to ensure compliant, efficient project delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering with 3+ years in EPC environments, familiarity with API/Norsok/NFPA codes, and strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in process design or related chemical/oil & gas storage experience preferred.
• 3+ years in EPC environment preferred.
• Familiar with API, NFPA, Norsok, and other international design codes.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Able to use AutoCad.
• Able to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Knowledge of hydrocarbon processing units is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PFDs and P&IDs for product, utility, firefighting, oily water, and vapor collection systems.
• Prepare pump hydraulics, thermal heating, firefighting calculations, surge analyses.
• Prepare process descriptions and design basis documents.
• Participate in Hazop studies and follow-up actions.
• Assist in checking process design for tenders/bids.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for project work.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by section head or lead engineer.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare Process Flow Diagram / Piping and Instrumentation Diagram for product system, Utility system, Fire fighting system, Oily water system and vapor collection system
• Prepare pump hydraulic calculation report, Thermal heating system report, firefighting system calculation report, surge analysis report etc
• Prepare process system description and process design basis documents
• Participate in Hazop study, follow up on the Hazop action list to close the Hazop action list report
• Assist and checking the process design for tender / bidding package
• To communicate and discuss with other discipline for the works.
• To perform other tasks as assigned by section head or lead engineer.

Qualification & Experience generally required

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years working experience in process design or technical experience in Chemical, Oil & Gas storage or LPG or LNG storage terminal is preferable
• Minimum 3 working experience in EPC environment is preferable
• Familiar with the international design codes such as API, NFPA, Norsok etc
• Strong communication skill
• Good interpersonal skill and able to work as a team
• Able to use AutoCad
• Able to work independently with minimum guidance
