Job summary

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Design Engineer for a water treatment project in Tampines, Singapore. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in water and wastewater design and is eager to grow with our MNC client.

This is a 24-month contract with potential extension or conversion. Responsibilities include detailed engineering, P&ID, equipment/layout drawings, sizing and hydraulic calculations, and liaising with the internal design team to meet deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in water and wastewater design.
• Experience in construction, test/commission, and operation is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Navisworks, SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Perform detail engineering for water and wastewater plant to meet specs and schedule.
• Prepare sketches for P&IDs drawings.
• Prepare sketches for fabrication and equipment layout drawings.
• Perform sizing and hydraulic calculations.
• Liaise with in-house design team to meet deliverables.
• Support bid, project management, and commissioning teams as required.

Job description

Spencer Ogden is currently seeking a Design Engineer for a new water treatment project in Tampines.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in either the utilities industries and an appetite to grow their career rapidly with our MNC client.

This is a 24-month contract with the opportunity to either extend or convert to a permanent position.

Contract Details:

• Location: Tampines
• Working Hours: 5 days, 8 hours a day (Monday to Friday)
• Contract Duration: 24 months, option to renew or convert.
• Start Date: As soon as possible, candidates who are immediately available or have a notice period of 4 weeks or less will be prioritised.
• Salary Range: 6,000 - 7,000 SGD per month, subject to candidate experience
• Benefits: Annual completion bonus, 15 days annual leave, Private Medical and Life Insurance provided
• Please note that this position does not provide work pass sponsorship and only Singaporean Citizens and/or Permanent Residents may be considered.

Responsibilities:

• Take on detail engineering task for water and wastewater treatment plant to full fill business obligation e.g. On-time delivery, Satisfy contract specification or industrial standard and bring value to customer. Work shall include but not limited to the following:
• Prepare sketches on P&IDs Drawing
• Prepare sketches on Fabrication Drawing
• Prepare sketches on Equipment Layout Drawing
• Prepare sketches on Pipe Routing Drawing
• Prepare equipment and material datasheet
• Perform equipment sizing calculation
• Perform pipe sizing calculation
• Perform hydraulic calculation
• Perform pipe stress analysis
• Perform material take off
• Raise purchase requisition
• Check and sign off engineering design
• Liaison with in-house design team aboard to meet engineering deliverables.
• Perform value engineering to drive cost down.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and provide input on vendor selection.
• Support business initiatives to bid and win jobs as required.
• Support Project Management/ Construction Team on construction activities as required.
• Support Commissioning Team on commissioning activities as required

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Bachelor/Masters' Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years working experiences in design of water and wastewater
• Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
• Experience in construction, test and commission, and operation of water and wastewater plant is a plus point
• Well versed in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
• Familiar in MS SharePoint, MS Team, and Naviswork
• Ability to operate AutoCAD and SAP is a plus point
