Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and produce detailed construction drawings for mechanical systems. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in CAD software and the ability to communicate in Mandarin are essential for liaising with associates. The ideal candidate will manage multiple tasks and ensure alignment with project specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in detail design of Mechanical Systems (ACMV, Chilled water plant, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience in reviewing and verifying design and construction drawings.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and produce detailed tender and construction drawings for mechanical systems
• Define project scope, identify potential issues, and raise clarifications as needed
• Evaluate quotations and bid documents to ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications.
• Prepare and present comprehensive design reports to project stakeholders
• Prepare and manage the construction drawing management forms, ensuring all drawings are updated and accurate
• Create and verify calculation reports to support the design process
• Review and verify all design and construction drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements
• Review and validate major equipment and material specification sheets
• Approve major equipment purchase requisitions and ensure procurement aligns with project needs
• Manage and coordinate external design tasks for respective disciplines
• onduct design handover sessions with clients and contractors to ensure seamless project execution
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in detail design of Mechanical Systems (ACMV, Chilled water plant, Building Services, Cleanrooms, etc)
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and other mechanical design tools
• Understanding of HVAC systems, piping, pressure vessels, plumbing, and other mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking associates
• Candidates with good experience will be considered for a higher role, and the salary will be commensurate accordingly
