Job summary

Roche Singapore seeks a BA/BS-educated engineer to lead capital projects from design through commissioning, ensuring reliability and compliance with cGMP standards.   • Lead projects through design, procurement, installation and commissioning of new equipment or modifications to facilities and assets.
  • Collaborate with internal resources and external contractors to plan, schedule and execute capital projects within timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure equipment and piping design conforms to standards, regulatory requirements, SHE standards, cGMP compliance, and other necessary requirements.
  • Create, review and approve cGMP documents such as SOPs and drawings; maintain project documentation.
  • Support global engineering teams in large capital projects (>10M CHF) as required.
  • Provide engineering and project management support to Roche sites in Singapore.
  • Partner with manufacturing, maintenance and reliability teams to ensure asset operation and lifecycle management.

Position Key Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead projects through the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment, facilities and engineering assets, in order to meet operational and reliability requirements for existing product and/or new product introduction.
  • Collaborate with internal resources and/or external contractors to plan, schedule and execute capital projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure equipment and piping design conforms to industrial standards, master specifications, statutory requirements, SHE standards, cGMP compliance and other necessary requirements.
  • Create, review and/or approve cGMP documents such as SOPs, engineering drawings, change orders, etc. and maintain project documentation as necessary.
  • Support global engineering teams in the execution of large-sized capital projects (>10M CHF) as required.
  • Provide engineering and project management support to other Roche legal entities in Singapore.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams with the intent of building competencies for proper operation of manufacturing equipment and imparting capabilities for potential operator care programs.
  • Partner with maintenance and utility teams to ensure maintenance requirements are duly considered in asset design, support updating of maintenance procedures/work instructions and imparting capabilities for asset maintenance.
  • Partner with reliability teams to provide information for setting up maintenance master data, contribute to total asset lifecycle management and support reliability initiatives for all F&E assets.
  • Partner with network teams as RSTO’s technical SME as required.
  • Assist Section Head in preparation of site capital plan and monitoring of capital budget
  • Support the technology transfer of new products/ processes to Singapore site as required.
  • Support qualification of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment as required.
  • Support quality and/or safety root cause analysis, risk assessments, impact assessments and implement CAPA as required.
  • Comply with all RSTO’s Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) requirements, never put oneself and others at safety & health risks, and report any workplace accidents, near misses and hazards as soon as practicable.
  • Observe all RSTO’s site security measures at all times, and report any suspicious characters/objects & damaged security mechanisms to Site Security immediately.
  • Support development of key engineering topics for site regulatory inspections and flings as required.
  • Embodied PT Lean Production System (LPS), while demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and behaviors through the use and application of LPS tools for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as delegate to Head of Engineering as required.
Requirements
  • BA/BS or higher in a scientific or engineering discipline
  • At least 2 years’ working experience.
