Sport Singapore is seeking a strategic leader to guide the Team, align SportSG initiatives with the corporate vision, and drive cross-functional collaboration across business units. You will shape planning, governance and performance frameworks to deliver impactful outcomes.

The role involves stakeholder engagement, policy development, and building a high-performance team dedicated to advancing sport nationwide. The appointment is a 2/3-year contract, with a focus on sustained delivery.

What you will be working on:

Provide strategic leadership for the Team and strengthen organisational alignment across SportSG, integrating the activities and objectives of business units with SportSG's corporate vision, strategy and priorities, as well as ensuring effective collaboration and policy implementation.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Integration and Organisational Alignment
  • Ensure business unit plans, initiatives and activities are aligned with corporate vision, strategic priorities and desired outcomes.
  • Identify, analyse and coordinate cross-cutting issues, interdependencies and strategic opportunities across business units.
  • Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders to achieve shared organisational goals and strengthen cross-functional alignment.
  • Develop and enhance policies, processes and governance mechanisms to improve organisational effectiveness, consistency and strategic execution.
  • Gather insights from business units and operational teams to identify emerging issues, integration gaps, opportunities for innovation and areas requiring management attention.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior management on matters affecting organisational performance and outcomes.
Strategic Planning, Performance and Resource Management
  • Lead annual and long-term planning exercises with assigned business units, translating corporate objectives into actionable workplans, key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementation roadmaps.
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders to evaluate funding and resource requirements, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across competing priorities.
  • Establish frameworks and reporting mechanisms to monitor performance, risks, resource utilisation and delivery outcomes.
  • Analyse data and stakeholder insights to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic resource planning.
  • Drive performance reviews and recommend interventions to address emerging risks and improve organisational outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
  • Build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across the organisation to drive alignment and collective ownership of outcomes.
  • Serve as a strategic connector across business units where responsibilities span multiple functions or lack a natural owner.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders across the wider ecosystem, including government agencies, educational institutions, national sports associations and industry partners.
  • Ensure partnerships and collaborative initiatives support organisational objectives and contribute to long-term strategic outcomes.
  • Escalate systemic issues appropriately and support senior leadership in navigating complex organisational challenges.
Team Leadership and Capability Development
  • Lead, develop and mentor team members, ensuring effective prioritisation and delivery of workstreams.
  • Coach and build team capabilities to strengthen organisational effectiveness and professional growth.
  • Oversee management platforms, governance processes and reporting structures within the portfolio.
  • Foster a collaborative, learning-oriented and high-performance culture that builds credibility and trust across the organisation.
What we are looking for:

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.

In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following;

  • Related qualification in Business Administration, Public Policy or equivalent
  • At least 8-12 years of relevant experience in strategy, planning, corporate development, organisational transformation, public sector policy, programme management or a related field
  • Proven experience working with senior stakeholders and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate broad priorities into actionable plans
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly and succinctly
  • Resourceful and able to work independently and lead team(s).
  • Ability to deal with complexity and rapid changing environment to navigate the strategy-ops nexus.
  • Able to proactively manage priorities and relationships and people to effectively drive projects forward.

The level of offer will commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records.
