Job summary

EDB Economic Development Board seeks a senior strategist to drive decarbonisation initiatives across Singapore’s manufacturing and industrial sectors. You will translate industry needs into actionable R&D priorities and build partnerships with research institutions, industry players and government partners.

You will develop cross-sector technology roadmaps, assess emerging decarbonisation pathways, and help deploy scalable solutions aligned with Singapore’s climate and economic priorities.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in energy, industrial decarbonisation, environmental sustainability, engineering, R&D and innovation, climate technology, corporate strategy or related fields.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively across new and evolving topics, multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
• Experience in business development, project development, technology commercialisation, R&D partnerships or innovation programmes would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Understand industry needs and identify opportunities across Singapore’s manufacturing and industrial sectors to decarbonisation strategies, technology roadmaps and challenges.
• Build trusted relationships with companies to understand decarbonisation strategies and surface collaboration opportunities.
• Translate industry needs into clear technology and R&D problem statements and identify where new solutions could help.
• Develop and execute R&D strategies and priorities for industry decarbonisation, assessing maturity, gaps, emissions impact and viability.
• Build a pipeline of industry partnerships and projects across the Decarbonisation Grand Challenge, bringing together research institutions and technology providers.
• Collaborate with government agencies and stakeholders to advance projects towards deployment.
