Job summary

Auxo Talent is seeking an experienced DC Fibre & Cabling Engineer to support design, coordination, and delivery of cabling infrastructure across data centre environments.

The role involves coordinating fibre/cabling requirements, preparing designs and tender docs, and collaborating with network, server, security and operations teams to deliver cabling solutions. Strong project coordination and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in data centre fibre and structured cabling.
• Knowledge of Cat6A copper, OS2 and OM4+ fibre.
• Familiarity with LC and MPO/MTP interfaces and ISO/TIA standards.
• Experience with live data centre environments and documentation.
• Familiarity with RCDD standards and Cisco/Arista environments would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with network, server, security and data centre operations teams to consolidate requirements.
• Oversee project activities including budget tracking, vendor coordination, design/shop drawing reviews, logistics, scheduling, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Support MAC activities within live data centre environments and maintain patching records and as-built drawings.
• Provide coordination outside normal business hours when required for vendor installation, testing, commissioning or handover.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced DC Fibre & Cabling Engineer to support the design, coordination and delivery of cabling infrastructure across new and existing data centre environments.

This is an opportunity to work with a global technology infrastructure organisation with an international presence, supporting complex, mission-critical data centre environments and high-density connectivity requirements.

The Role

• Manage and coordinate fibre and structured cabling requirements for new and existing data centres, ensuring designs align with established engineering standards.
• Prepare and review cabling designs, technical specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation, including technical support for vendor evaluation.
• Coordinate with network, server, security and data centre operations teams to consolidate requirements and deliver cabling solutions effectively.
• Oversee project activities including budget tracking, vendor coordination, design/shop drawing reviews, logistics, scheduling, installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Support Move, Add and Change (MAC) activities within live data centre environments and maintain accurate patching records, as-built drawings and operational documentation.
• Provide coordination support outside normal business hours when required for vendor installation, testing, commissioning or handover activities.

Requirements

• Strong experience in data centre fibre and structured cabling, preferably within mission-critical, enterprise or regulated environments.
• Good knowledge of Cat6A copper, OS2 and OM4+ fibre, high-density fibre cassette solutions, data centre racks, cabinets and patching systems.
• Practical knowledge of LC and MPO/MTP interfaces for single-mode and multimode fibre, together with industry-standard testing methodologies and ISO/TIA standards.
• Familiarity with Fluke Networks cable analysers (DSX-5000/8000) and ability to produce/review technical cabling designs using AutoCAD.
• Experience working safely within live data centre environments, with strong project coordination, documentation and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with RCDD standards and Cisco/Arista networking environments would be advantageous.
