About the Role ByteBridge is looking for a Cabling Solution Engineer to support the design, costing and delivery of structured cabling and data center infrastructure solutions. This role will work closely with the Sales, Pre-Sales, Engineering and Project teams to develop practical and cost-effective cabling solutions for data centers, offices and other critical IT environments. The ideal candidate should have strong hands‑on knowledge of copper and fiber cabling, with the ability to understand customer requirements, conduct site surveys, prepare technical solutions and support projects through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and gather technical requirements for structured cabling and data center infrastructure projects.
- Design copper and fiber optic cabling solutions based on customer requirements and site conditions.
- Prepare cabling layouts, cable schedules, pathway requirements, rack elevations and related technical documentation.
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and support project costing and quotation preparation.
- Perform cable quantity take-off based on drawings, layouts and site conditions.
- Recommend suitable cabling products, components and installation methods.
- Support solutions involving: Copper structured cabling (Cat6 / Cat6A) Fiber optic cabling (SMF / MMF) High-density fiber solutions Patch panels, fiber panels and connectivity Cabinets and server racks Cable trays, ladder racks and containment Overhead and underfloor cable management Rack-to-rack and network connectivity
- Review drawings, specifications, tender documents and customer requirements.
- Prepare technical proposals, solution presentations and scope of work.
- Support Sales and Pre-Sales teams during customer discussions and tender submissions.
- Work with vendors and suppliers on product selection, pricing and technical compliance.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and site teams to ensure the proposed solution can be implemented effectively.
- Provide technical clarification and troubleshooting support during project execution.
- Support testing, labeling, documentation and final project handover.
- Ensure cabling designs and installations follow applicable industry standards and customer requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, IT or related discipline.
- Around 3–5 years of experience in structured cabling, ICT infrastructure, data center infrastructure or a related field.
- Good knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Familiar with fiber termination, splicing, patching and testing concepts.
- Understanding of data center racks, network cabinets, cable pathways and cable management systems.
- Able to interpret floor plans, cabling layouts, rack elevations and technical drawings.
- Experience preparing BOM, costing, quotations or technical proposals is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with structured cabling standards such as TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC is an advantage.
- Experience with cabling brands such as Siemon, CommScope, Panduit, Corning, Belden, R&M or equivalent is advantageous.
- AutoCAD or similar drawing experience would be an advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to travel or attend project sites when required.
