Job summary

Eden Day Activity Centre seeks a dedicated Day Activity Centre (DAC) Associate Coach to support adults with autism and help create a nurturing, growth-oriented environment at our Hougang location.

Responsibilities include service development, client-centered planning, PCP implementation, and coordinating with families while ensuring safety and well-being of clients and staff.

Qualifications

• ITE Certification or equivalent required.
• Experience in Special Education, Nursing, Counselling or Care services preferred.
• Experience with youths/adults with autism is an added advantage.
• Compassionate and patient personality required.

Responsibilities

• Service Development: Proactively expand knowledge of autism and teaching strategies.
• Client Support: Identify clients' needs, form life goals and PCPs.
• Implement PCPs as instructed by Head of Centre.
• Review PCPs and adjust as required.
• Maintain open communication with clients' parents/caregivers about progress and care.
• Ensure basic needs of clients are met (toileting, eating, drinking, resting, social-emotional regulation, sensory supports).
• Ensure the safety of all clients and staff.
• Resource Management: Maintain and improve the Centre's environment; manage training tools and materials inventory.
• Administrative: Attend regular contact time sessions and staff development programs.

Join our dedicated team at Eden Day Activity Centre and make a positive impact on the lives of adults with autism! We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Day Activity Centre (DAC) Associate Coach to help us create a nurturing environment where our clients can thrive.

As a DAC Associate Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients' development and well-being. Here are some key responsibilities that make this position both rewarding and fulfilling:

1) Service Development

• To be proactive in expanding one's personal knowledge of autism and relevant teaching strategies.

2) Client Support

• To assist in identifying clients’ areas of needs, formulating life goals & objectives, and developing person-centered plans (PCPs)

• To implement the PCPs as agreed and instructed by the Head of Centre

• To assist in the review of PCPs and to make recommendations and changes where required

• To maintain open communications with the clients’ parents / care-givers pertaining to the progress, development and care of clients

• To ensure the basic needs of clients are met while at the Centre, e.g. toileting, eating, drinking, resting, social-emotional regulation, sensory supports, etc.

• To ensure the safety of all clients and staff

3) Resource Management

• To assist in maintaining and improving the Centre's physical environment

• To assist in the maintenance and inventory control of training tools and materials

4) Administrative

• To attend regular contact time sessions, and staff development programmes
  

Requirements:

• At least an ITE Certification/O Level/A Level/ Diploma from a recognized educational institution

• Relevant experience in the fields of Special Education, Nursing, Counselling or Care services is preferred

• Experience in Community Service with exposure to youths / adults with autism is an added advantage
