Job summary

GovTech Singapore is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Anti Scam Products Team. You will own the full ML lifecycle—from scoping problems with stakeholders to developing, deploying, and operating production models that help protect citizens from fraud.

Collaborating across data infrastructure and engineering, you will prototype rapidly, communicate findings, and identify projects that advance public good while aligning with government data standards.

Qualifications

• Willingness to understand the fraud/scam domain.
• Effective and critical use of LLMs: leveraging AI tools with good judgment.
• Basic statistical data analytics (A/B test significance, rolling window analysis, confounder analysis).
• Experience in data wrangling, model development (classification, regression, etc.) and deployment (Sagemaker, TensorFlow).
• Foundational coding experience in Python (Git, package management/venv).

Responsibilities

• Own the full ML lifecycle from scoping problems with stakeholders to developing and deploying models.
• Build and operate production systems with engineers to serve solutions.
• Collaborate across data infrastructure, AI/ML, and partner integrations.
• Present findings, solicit feedback, and prioritize refinements with stakeholders.
• Identify projects that improve the public good and align with government priorities.
• Rapid prototyping to demonstrate feasibility and possible paths forward.
