Job summary

Singapore Airlines is seeking a data privacy counsel within the Legal, Compliance & Secretariat Department (LCS) in the Corporate Planning Division. You will support the Data Protection team, advise on Singapore PDPA and global privacy laws, and handle contentious and advisory matters relating to privacy across the SIA group.

The successful candidate will be a privacy lawyer or a general commercial litigator with data privacy qualifications, with at least two years of experience and strong

Qualifications

• Qualified with a law degree from a reputable university in Singapore or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• At least two years of legal experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house.
• Excellent drafting skills.
• Experience in cybersecurity, litigation (aviation or cross‑border), and/or intellectual property is a plus.
• Admission to the Singapore Bar is not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; communicate effectively in a dynamic environment at SIA.

Responsibilities

• Advise business units on personal data protection matters and assess legal risks.
• Implement and monitor internal personal data protection compliance policies, procedures, controls and remediation measures.
• Promote and update the personal data protection compliance programme.
• Manage and respond to data subject access requests and privacy related complaints or disputes.
• Manage civil litigation matters involving SIA in Singapore and overseas, including privacy or IP related litigation with outside counsel.
• Advise on handling passenger claims and on compliance with production orders/requests by law enforcement authorities in Singapore and overseas.
