Job summary

Shopee's Engineering and Technology team in Singapore is seeking an entry-level Data Infrastructure Engineer to help improve reliability and efficiency of the data platform. You will work across storage, batch and stream compute, and tooling to keep systems healthy and observable.

In this role you will build automation, participate in on-call triage, and collaborate with platform engineers to diagnose production issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Solid Linux skills and command line proficiency.
• Experience with Shell and Python for automation.
• Familiarity with OS, networking, or distributed systems fundamentals.
• Internship or project work with big data / storage / compute stacks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Improve service reliability across the lifecycle: monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity/health follow-up, and refinement of assigned platform components.
• Participate in on-call: triage incidents, post-incident reviews, and help land lasting fixes.
• Build automation and tooling that reduce operational toil (Shell/Python scripts first; small services when needed).
• Strengthen observability with metrics, logs, dashboards, and actionable alerting.
• Support safe change and operations: releases, rollbacks, configuration changes, and runbook/SOP maintenance.
• Partner with platform and business engineers to diagnose production issues and improve operability.
