Job summary

ByteDance Singapore offers an internship for a Data Engineer on the Data Management Suite team. You will design, build, and optimize large-scale data ingestion and processing pipelines, gaining hands-on experience across data ingestion, transformation, and governance.

You will work with Java, Scala, Python, or Go, and learn big data technologies such as Hadoop, Flink, and Kafka while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable data solutions for real-time and batch workloads.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Undergraduate or Master’s in CS, SE, or a related technical field.
• Proficient in at least one programming language.
• Strong understanding of data structures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on exposure to big-data technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize the architecture of large-scale data ingestion systems for real-time pipelines.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of data ingestion processes.
• Develop automated operations and maintenance to monitor and ensure stability of pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver event data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
