Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Data Engineer for the Data Management Suite team in Singapore. You will design, build, and optimize large-scale data ingestion systems that power real-time pipelines with high throughput and low latency.

You will work across the data platform to improve performance, reliability, and automated operations, enabling scaling for hundreds of millions of users while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Experience in software development with proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, or Go.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems principles.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Flink, Kafka, or similar frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize the architecture of large-scale data ingestion systems to support real-time data pipelines with high throughput, low latency, and fault tolerance.
• Improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of data ingestion pipelines.
• Develop and implement automated and intelligent operations and maintenance systems to monitor, diagnose, and ensure the stability and reliability of data ingestion pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver event data ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions that meet diverse business requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
