Job summary

The Health Promotion Board seeks an experienced Assistant Director to lead the Data Engineering and Architecture team within the Chief Data Officer's Office. You will drive the end-to-end lifecycle of the National Lifestyle Repository, shaping architecture, governance, and data partnerships to deliver scalable, citizen-centric health insights.

You will mentor a team of data engineers, translate policy into technical directions, and foster cross-agency collaboration to power Precision Public

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.
• 2+ years in supervisory roles.
• Experience designing scalable data platforms on prem and cloud.
• Proficiency in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and technical direction across the full lifecycle of the NLR from architecture to governance.
• Define and own the overarching technical vision, architecture roadmap, and data governance frameworks.
• Lead high-level data partnerships with key agencies and secure data sharing agreements.
• Provide strategic oversight across workstreams and governance standards.
• Research, prototype, and champion adoption of new technologies to advance NLR.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers.
