Job summary

Allegis Group Singapore Pte Ltd is hiring a Data Engineer to join a high-performing enterprise data team. You will design, develop, and maintain data ingestion pipelines, ingest data from external providers and internal sources, and build scalable Python backend services powering data platforms.

The role emphasizes hands-on Python engineering, production support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Python for data engineering and pipelines.
• Proven ability to design backend services for data systems.
• Experience with Snowflake data ingestion, querying and warehouse ops.
• SQL proficiency for large-scale datasets and workflows.
• Working knowledge of Databricks and production data platforms.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance data ingestion pipelines for ongoing operations.
• Ingest data from external providers and internal sources into enterprise data platforms.
• Develop scalable Python backend services powering data systems and workflows.
• Support BAU operations: monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, issue resolution.
• Enhance existing data engineering solutions and contribute to platform improvements.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Database, Network, and Data Steward teams for reliable data delivery.
• Support testing, deployment activities, and ensure operational stability across releases.
• Participate in after-hours support for critical production incidents when required.
