Job summary

BGC Group Pte Ltd in Singapore is hiring a Data Engineer for a 12-month contract to design, build, and maintain enterprise data pipelines and integration workflows.

You will work with data scientists, application teams, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into accurate, reliable datasets and improve platform performance.

This role offers a salary up to SGD 7,500 per month, includes AWS access, and additional performance and loyalty bonuses.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data engineering position.
• Familiarity with data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Denodo.
• Experience with databases and storage technologies (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MinIO, ChromaDB).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflows using the organisation's data analytics platform.
• Enhance data management processes to improve data availability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Improve data architecture to enhance platform performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Analyze data quality, identify issues, and implement data quality controls and frameworks.
• Provide Day 2 operational support including system administration, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with data scientists, developers, and stakeholders to translate data requirements into high-quality datasets.

Job Highlights

• Contract Duration: 12 Months
• Salary: Up to $7,500/month + AWS + Performance Bonus + Loyalty Bonus
• Location: Central Singapore (Bukit Merah Area) and/or other locations based on operational requirements
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 6:00pm

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines and integration workflows. You will play an important role in enhancing data architecture, improving data quality, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of the data analytics platform.

You will work closely with data scientists, application development teams, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into accurate, reliable, and high-quality datasets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflows using the organisation's data analytics platform
• Enhance existing data management processes to improve data availability, reliability, and operational efficiency
• Enhance and optimise data architecture to improve platform performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Analyse data quality, identify issues, and implement suitable data quality tools, controls, and frameworks
• Improve data quality across enterprise systems and the central data platform
• Provide Day 2 operational support, including system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Monitor data platforms, tools, and pipelines to ensure system performance, availability, and compliance with applicable IT policies
• Implement enhancements and continuous improvements to the data analytics platform
• Collaborate with data scientists, application development teams, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into high-quality datasets
• Stay updated on emerging data engineering tools, technologies, and industry trends to continuously enhance the data infrastructure

Who We're Looking For

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar data engineering position
• Knowledge of and familiarity with the administration of data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Denodo
• Familiarity with data APIs, ETL processes, and data integration techniques
• Experience with databases and storage technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), PostgreSQL, MinIO, or ChromaDB
• Experience in data pipeline monitoring, troubleshooting, system administration, or performance tuning will be advantageous
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams
• Proactive, meticulous, and committed to delivering reliable and high-quality data solution
