Job summary

Visa Hunt is seeking a Data Engineer to shape trusted KPIs, dashboards, and performance narratives for Asia's digital and consumer business teams. You will partner with Strategic Planning and Technical teams to strengthen the end-to-end data foundation and ensure data across the regional platform is accurate for reporting.

The role covers data ingestion, ETL, data quality, dashboarding in Power BI/Tableau, and cross-market collaboration to translate business needs into data solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of data analytics, BI, and ETL experience.
• Proficient in Power BI or Tableau.
• SQL/Python/R for data extraction and transformation.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric.
• STEM degree in CS/Analytics/Engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication for multi-market stakeholders.

Data Engineer - Regional Data Platform & Insights

We are looking for a Data Engineer to shape trusted KPIs, dashboards, and performance narratives for our digital and consumer business teams across Asia. You will partner with our Strategic Planning and Technical teams to strengthen the end-to-end data foundation, ensuring that data across the regional data platform is accurate, consistent, and ready for reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Understanding & Requirements Translation

• Translate business needs into clear data requirements, taxonomies, mapping logic, and documentation frameworks.
• Understand regional digital and consumer business structures to ensure accurate and meaningful data interpretation.

2. Data Management & Quality Assurance

• Perform data cleansing, validation, and transformation to maintain high data accuracy and integrity.
• Manage datasets across multiple markets, ensuring consistency, completeness, and proper version control.
• Work closely with strategic planning and technical teams to perform ETL and ingest dataset across multiple markets into the regional data platform, including field mapping, transformation rules, reconciliation checks, and ingestion monitoring.
• Support UAT for data ingestion and transformation changes by validating data quality, numeric accuracy, and data formats to ensure the datasets loaded into the regional data lake are fit for reporting and analysis.

3. Dashboarding & Reporting

• Build, enhance, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Ensure dashboards are accurate, user friendly, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
• Deliver recurring and adhoc reports within agreed timelines.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with digital and consumer business users, and cross functional teams across Asia and within the regional office to gather requirements and manage timelines.
• Communicate data findings clearly, translating analytical outputs into business relevant insights.

5. Process & Workflow Improvements

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation, standards, and best practices (e.g., data dictionaries, mapping specifications, and ingestion checklists) to improve consistency and quality across markets.
• Collaborate with technical and strategic planning teams to streamline and automate file submission-to-ingestion workflows into the regional data platform, including standardized templates, validation rules, data quality controls and monitoring.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, dashboard development, and supporting data ingestion/ETL initiatives, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry
• Strong proficiency in Power BI or Tableau (intermediate to advanced)
• Working knowledge of SQL/Python/R for data extraction and querying, data transformation or automation tasks
• Hands‑on experience supporting ETL/ELT processes and file-based ingestion (e.g. CSV/Excel), including batch ingestion, partitioning, data validation, mapping, and data quality controls
• Experience creating or supporting data pipelines using cloud data platform such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or Snowflake
• Experience supporting UAT or data testing for pipeline changes, including defining test cases, performing record counts and reconciliation checks, and validating schema/format conformance
• Strong understanding of data structures, taxonomies, mapping practices, and analytical logic
• Excellent attention to detail and strong task‑management discipline
• Comfortable collaborating with technical teams and business users to troubleshoot ingestion issues and maintain data dictionaries
• Effective communication skills, with experience supporting multiple-market or cross-functional stakeholders
• STEM‑related degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, IT or a similar field preferred
