Job summary

Hytech in Singapore seeks a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data marts that power business analytics and reporting. You will build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and translate requirements into dimensional models (star/snowflake) while ensuring data quality and reliable datasets for downstream consumption.

You will collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Operations, work with Data Analysts and BI teams to enable self-service analytics, and apply data governance and best practices across

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or above in CS/SE/Statistics or related field.
• 3+ years experience in data engineering or data warehouse development end-to-end.
• Hands-on Databricks and AWS data services experience.
• SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data modeling (Kimball).
• Strong English; Chinese helpful for regional collaboration.

• Translate business requirements into dimensional models (star/snowflake schemas)
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across datasets
• Optimize query performance and data storage for efficient downstream consumption
• Collaborate with business stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Operations) to deliver actionable datasets
• Work closely with Data Analysts and BI teams to enable self-service analytics
• Implement data governance, documentation, and best practices across the data layer
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance and data issues

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data warehouse development, with hands‑on experience building data marts or data warehouses end to end
• Strong experience in data mart / data warehouse modeling (Kimball methodology preferred)
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks (Spark, PySpark)
• Solid experience in AWS data services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda – depending on stack)
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred)
• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
• Understanding of data partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning
• Strong English proficiency required; spoken Chinese proficiency advantageous to support collaboration with regional colleagues and external stakeholders
