Job summary

Public Service Division is seeking a Data Engineer in Singapore to design, develop, and maintain reliable data platforms, pipelines, and analytics-ready datasets. The role targets junior to middle-level professionals eager to build practical data engineering capabilities using Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, and medallion patterns.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, design scalable data solutions, and ensure data quality across layers for reporting,

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, warehousing, lakehouse analytics.
• Strong foundation in SQL and data modelling concepts.
• Experience with Python, PySpark or similar scripting language.
• Ability to work with structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to translate data needs into technical tasks with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and data-related issues.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, data models, and datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Organise and manage data across layers from raw to cleansed, business-ready datasets.
• Ensure data quality through validation, lineage tracking, access management and monitoring.
• Monitor data pipeline performance, investigate failures and document remediation actions.
• Support cloud-based data solutions while ensuring security, governance and compliance.
• Contribute to enterprise data capability-building for reporting, analytics and AI-use cases.
