Job summary

Zenika Singapore is seeking a Data Engineer Consultant to design and implement robust data platforms for public sector and enterprise clients. You’ll work hands-on with AWS, Databricks, PySpark, Python, and SQL to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, collaborate across teams, and help optimize data pipelines, streaming architectures, and governance while ensuring cost efficiency and security.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering on AWS-native platforms.
• Proven ability to design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time streaming architectures.
• Hands-on Databricks, PySpark, Python, and SQL for large-scale transformations.
• Strong data warehouse knowledge (Redshift, Snowflake) and data governance principles.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with serverless compute (AWS Lambda) and automation scripting.
• Knowledge of data security, performance optimization, and cost control in cloud.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate tech to business.

Responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise-scale data architectures including data lakes and warehouses.
• Develop and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines processing large data volumes.
• Implement and optimize Databricks transformations using PySpark, Python, and SQL.
• Mentor junior engineers, review code, and promote best practices in data engineering and DevOps.
• Integrate automated data flows using APIs and AWS services (Glue, Redshift, S3, EMR, Lambda).
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure reliability and security.
