Job summary

Digital Edge Data Center is seeking a System Engineer to deliver and operate the company’s server, virtualization and storage infrastructure across its data centre portfolio in Asia-Pacific. The role requires hands-on experience with servers, hypervisors, HCI, SAN and associated platform services, working with owners to diagnose infrastructure dependencies and ensure stable, secure operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline.
• Typically 5+ years hands-on server, virtualization and storage experience.
• Experience with enterprise virtualization/HCI platform (e.g., VMware vSphere/vSAN, Nutanix, Hyper‑V).
• Solid server hardware, SAN/storage and networking knowledge.
• Automation experience with Ansible, Terraform and Python.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain servers and clusters to approved designs and build standards.
• Plan and apply hypervisor, firmware, BIOS and driver patches and updates to hosts and clusters, validating compatibility and rollback.
• Provision workload resources and deliver upgrades, migrations, hardware refreshes and decommissioning.
• Maintain asset, configuration, test and support records for all assigned infrastructure.
• Operate enterprise storage and SANs, including zoning, LUN presentation and multipathing.
• Diagnose storage latency, IOPS, throughput and capacity issues with network engineers.
• Operate backups and replication services, including DR tests per RPO/RTO.
• Collect workload requirements and utilisation data with service owners.
• Size routine requests within approved standards and prepare initial sizing for complex requirements.
• Maintain performance baselines and implement validated tuning with rollback plans.
• Validate RDMA/RoCE deployments with network engineers and collect diagnostics.
• Own maintenance and fault resolution within agreed SLAs.
• Participate in on-call rotations and planned maintenance 24/7.
• Apply approved hardening, access, certificate and vulnerability controls.
